NanoTech Roof Coatings in Houston

Help keep heat out. Protect a roof worth keeping. ARC works with NanoTech Materials to evaluate coating restoration for eligible commercial and metal roofs across Greater Houston.

More than a reflective finish

NanoTech combines a reflective roof coating with its Insulative Ceramic Particle technology to help limit heat transfer.

NanoTech: where we go deep

A specialized system. Not a one-size-fits-all answer.

NanoTech Materials is ARC's coating partner. Its Cool Roof Coat is a water-based acrylic roof coating designed to protect compatible roof surfaces and help reduce absorbed heat. ARC is your point of contact for evaluating the roof and discussing installation.

The right decision starts below the coating. If moisture, structural damage or drainage makes restoration unsuitable, those issues come first. A coating should preserve a sound roof—not cover up a failing one.

Help reduce heat transfer

Reflectance, emissivity and NanoTech's ceramic particle technology contribute to the product's thermal performance. Actual cooling savings vary by property.

Restore instead of automatically replacing

On an eligible roof, a specified coating system can help extend service life and may defer a tear-off. Scope and cost need a roof-specific comparison.

Treat the whole roof system

Cleaning, repairs, primers where required, seam details and coating thickness matter as much as the finish coat.

Which roofs can be considered?

NanoTech's manual includes systems for the following substrates. Inclusion is not automatic approval for an individual roof.

  • Metal roofs
  • TPO membranes
  • PVC membranes
  • EPDM membranes
  • Modified bitumen
  • Structural concrete

When coating isn't the next step

  • Wet insulation or a deteriorated roof deck.
  • Incompatible surfaces or inadequate adhesion.
  • Unresolved drainage problems or persistent ponding.
  • Damage that requires repair or replacement before coating.

Some localized issues can be repaired; others rule out restoration. The condition of the roof determines the scope.

From assessment to application

Good preparation makes the difference.

These are key considerations in NanoTech's installation guidance. Your proposal should define the work, system and conditions specific to your property.

  1. 1

    Evaluate the existing roof

Check the substrate, drainage, roof details and signs of moisture. Determine whether restoration is a viable alternative to replacement.

  2. 2

    Confirm compatibility

Use the manufacturer's required adhesion checks and applicable moisture assessment to establish the preparation and system specification.

  3. 3

    Prepare, repair and coat

Address unsuitable or wet materials, clean the surface, repair details and apply the selected components to the specified thickness in suitable weather.

  4. 4

    Plan for ongoing care

Review the proposed coverage and maintenance requirements. Keep drains clear and arrange inspections and repairs appropriate to the installed system.

Clear expectations. Written terms.

Energy savings, service life and installation time depend on the building and the specified system. Manufacturer test results are not a guarantee of your building's operating costs or project outcome.

Ask what the proposed warranty covers

Confirm the term, eligibility, product versus workmanship coverage, exclusions, required installation details and maintenance obligations. A manufacturer's product rating is not an ARC installer certification or a blanket warranty.
